Dare to Lead

Dare To Lead (DTL) is a national program, managed by the Australian Principals Associations Professional Development Council, that helps schools raise the outcomes for Indigenous education and introduce an Indigenous perspective into their curricula.

All Dare to Lead schools receive a complimentary copy of Moorditj, and those that purchase a Moorditj site licence can download free curriculum resources.

Free Curriculum Resources

A wide range of units of work are available to download free of charge to Dare to Lead schools with a Moorditj site licence. They are also now available on the new Resources Kit CD-ROM or in print format. Teachers can use the rich diversity of content in Moorditj to introduce an Indigenous context into their classrooms.

All curriculum areas are covered, including Indigenous Studies, the Arts, Society & the Environment, English, Science, Technology and Enterprise, Mathematics, LOTE, and Health and Physical Education.

Site Licensing

Schools require a site licence to use multiple copies of Moorditj.

By purchasing a site licence, Dare to Lead schools can install Moorditj on their network, desktop computers and individual laptops, access the 30 units of work as well as purchase other supporting teaching resources.

Teacher's Manual

"Moorditj in Your Classroom" is a teacher's manual that:

• explains how to use the program
• provides links to the curriculum framework (the Arts, Society and the Environment, and English)
• discusses teaching strategies and terminology that are appropriate in an Indigenous context
• shows how to incorporate Moorditj in a core learning area
• provides sample worksheets and schemata

You can purchase a printed copy in an A4 3-ring folder, or in digital format within the new Resources Kit CD-ROM.

Moorditj Resources Kit CD-ROM

This CD, available only to DTL member schools with a Moorditj site licence, contains resources that will be useful to teachers and to anyone wishing to present Moorditj to an audience (e.g. a principal wishing to discuss the program with their staff). The kit includes:

• a PDF copy of the Moorditj teachers manual (“Moorditj in Your Classroom”);
• PDF copies of 30 units of work (extended lesson plans) for primary and secondary users;
• curriculum links; and
• a presenter’s kit (Powerpoint presentation, pathways, background, structure, etc).
